Signing in with a username (not an email)
You sign in with a username and password — no email needed. That means a
whole family can share one real email address and still have separate accounts.
Your email is only kept as contact information.
Your church's two passcodes
Visitor passcode — lets anyone browse your church's shelf without an
account. Enter it in "Browse as a Visitor".
Signup passcode — required to create an account. It links your account to
your church. Enter it in "Join Your Church". Ask a leader, or scan the QR code on
the notice at the back of the church — it fills both in for you.
Making an account
On the home screen choose Join Your Church, pick a username and password,
enter your church's signup passcode, and choose Member (borrow books) or
Host (borrow and lend). You can switch between Member and Host any time from
the button in the top bar.
Registering a church
Register a Church on the home screen creates the church's own login and
its two passcodes. The church account manages its details, members, and the
printable notice.
Borrowing & the transfer code
Request a book, choose how long you need it, and the host approves. When you
actually collect the book, the host scans the QR on your My Requests screen
(or types your 6-digit transfer code from your Account page). That starts the
return clock. Returning the book works the same way. You'll see reminders 7, 3, 2
and 1 days before it's due.
Install it as an app
You can add Church Shelf to your phone or computer so it opens like a
normal app — and it still lets you browse the shelf when the signal is weak.
- iPhone / iPad (Safari): the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): the ⋮ menu, then Install app / Add to Home screen.
- Windows (Edge or Chrome): click the install icon in the address bar
(or the menu → Apps → Install). Once it's installed you can right-click it and
choose Pin to taskbar, and it appears in the Start menu.
Forgot your password?
On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password?, enter your username and the
email address on your account, and we'll send a 6-digit code to that email so you
can set a new password.
